During the month of June several events will bring closures to Yampa Street including the 31st Annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, which moves from Lincoln Avenue to the revitalized Yampa Street corridor this year.
Kicking off the summer festivities on Yampa Street is the 31st Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup. The event rolls into town Thursday, June 13, but won’t be on Yampa Street until the Show N’ Shine on Saturday, June 15 from 10am to 3pm. To corral the Mustangs, Yampa Street will be completely closed from 7th to 12th Streets and 10th & 12th Streets up to Lincoln. In addition, 8th and 9th Streets will see partial closures to the alley to allow for emergency and residential access, while 11th Street will be closed from Yampa to the alley. All street closures run from 5:30am to around 3:30pm.
Saturday’s Show n’ Shine is a car lover’s dream. Chrome and clear coat shine a little brighter in the Colorado summer sun as Ford Mustangs from throughout the years are on display. The Shine N’ Show and Autocross are free and open to the public. For a complete Mustang Roundup schedule, see www.steamboatchamber.com
That same weekend, the Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market will close Yampa from 6th to 8th Streets. As in previous seasons, the event will also close 7th Street from Yampa to alley and the 7th street parking lot from 6AM-4PM. The Farmers Market, which runs from 9am to 2pm, showcases local and regional produce, baked goods, products and homemade items every Saturday from June 15 through September 21.
The following week, Reds, Whites and Brews in the Boat pours on Yampa Street for the annual festival featuring amazing wine & craft beer
tastings, LIVE music, vendors and food. Yampa Street from 5th to 6th Street along with 6th Street to the Alley will be closed from 10am to 5:30pm on Saturday, June 22. www.redwhiteandbrews.net for information, vendors, breweries and more.
Steamboat Springs Transit (SST) will maintain its normal schedule and routes downtown during these events. However, a temporary stop will be located at the Meadows Parking Lot, near the ski mountain base, during the Mustang Autocross. When the east side of Mount Werner is closed on Friday, June 14, SST will not be able to access its regular stop during the autocross, but will use a temporary stop at the Meadows Lot on Mt. Werner that corresponds with the regular stop during this closure.
