The Town Challenge, put on by Parks & Recreation along with a number of community partners, is gearing up to hit the dirt for a season of community competition next week.
The Town Challenge MTB Race Series leaves the starting line Wednesday, June 5 with the Marabou XC at Marabou Ranch. Youth races begin at approximately 5:15 PM, with adult racing around approximately 6:00 PM. Racers are encouraged to arrive at least one hour prior to their designated start time. After the race, stick around for the post-race party, presented by Steamboat Radio, New Belgium and Arctic Liquors.
Marabou course pre-rides are available Sunday, June 2 through Tuesday, June 4 from 8 AM to 6 PM. When pre-riding the course, remember dogs are not permitted, a waiver is required and horseback riders and other users can be encountered at any time.
After the initial Marabou race, this year's series features five additional races, plus a FREE community ride, BBQ and end-of-season celebration with awards. The races span courses that incorporate cross-country, hill climbs and endurance skills for all ability levels. The following outlines the remaining races of the summer:
