Wastewater Treatment Plant

PumproomWhere does Steamboat Springs' wastewater go? All the water flushed and drained from  homes and businesses flows through the city's sewer collection system to the Wastewater Treatment Plant on Routt County Road 33.

The city's plant treats approximately three million gallons of water per day, which after about 24 hours and extensive processing is turned into effluent, which is then discharged into the Yampa River.

The plant personnel are responsible for the proper operation of the wastewater treatment plant and compliance with all state and EPA regulations.
