Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue is a fire department with Full-Time Firefighter/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics serving the citizens of Steamboat Springs and the surrounding Rural Fire Protection District.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR EMPLOYMENT, CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Possess or obtain within six month a CO State Firefighter I Certification
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally eligible to work in the USA.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation or obtain a Colorado State Driver’s license within one month of hire date.
  • No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
  • Must possess a current Healthcare Provider level CPR card.
  • Must possess a Colorado EMT certificate or be able to obtain one by January 1, 2022.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to obtain a CO State Firefighter II Certification within 2 years of hire.
  • Must be able to meet all requirements of FF/EMT job description upon successful completion of training.
