Howelsen Hill Trails CLOSED July 4th

At the request of Steamboat Springs Police and Fire Departments, for the safety of the Fireworks Crew and the Public, we will close all Howelsen Hill trails on July 4th.

Unauthorized people need to stay away from the Fireworks blast areas during the day while the fireworks are loaded as well as before, during and after the fireworks show.

Last year there were literally hundreds of people in the restricted areas. The public in these areas causes a very dangerous situation for the fireworks crew, and cause delays for the Fire Fighters who always have several fires to put out during and after the show.

The City will hire extra security and safety staff to help the Police Department keep the area secure during loading until after the show.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we feel it is necessary to keep everyone safe, and will ensure our great fireworks show on Howelsen Hill can continue.
