City Sales Tax Up 3.1% for March 2008

March 2008 sales tax collections increased 3.1% from sales tax collections for the month of March 2008. In looking at sales by category for March 2008, miscellaneous retail is up 3.34%, lodging is up 5.76%, sporting goods is down 4.56%, utilities is up 3.63%, restaurants is up 1.86%, and liquor stores is up 5.35%. This report now provides a breakdown of how much of the overall sales tax increase is General Fund and how much is Steamboat Springs Redevelopment Authority.
