The new rates were determined after the City of Steamboat Springs went through an extensive rate study in 2010 by an outside consulting firm. These rates were presented to City Council and approved in September of 2010. The change in rates is to ensure that the City’s water and wastewater infrastructure can be maintained at an appropriate level. Rates went up initially in February of 2011 and will increase again at the beginning of 2013.
