Animal Control
About the Department
Animal Control consists of two full-time Officers who are responsible for enforcing animal ordinances of the City of Steamboat Springs Municipal Code. The officers respond to calls for animal complaints such as: dogs at large, animal bites, animal cruelty, vicious animals, and barking dogs. They handle calls relating to horses, cattle, and all domestic/pet animals.  Officer daily duties include investigations, report writing, serving citations and warnings, and patrol.  The Officer's presence within the community provides public education as well as enforcement.  Animal Control Officers prepare daily, monthly, and annual reports of animal control activities.
