Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue is a combination fire department with Full-Time, Part-Time and Reserve Firefighter/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics serving the citizens of Steamboat Springs and the surrounding Rural Fire Protection District.

The Steamboat Springs Fire Academy has been set up to provide rigorous entry level training for individuals interested in the fire service.

Applicants for the Fire Academy must meet the following criteria:

• Be twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Be a U.S. citizen, or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must possess and keep a valid Colorado driver’s license.
