Requirements for participation in as well as compliance with the program include: One of the basic premises of the program is to minimize property damage from flood-related events. The City seeks to meet this goal by requiring new residential and non-residential construction comply with the Floodplain Ordinance, which requires either elevating the structures above the Floodplain or Flood Proofing the structures. The City has created mapping software that will display Floodplain information over a our existing Street Maps and Arial photography. To see if your property is in a Special Flood Hazard Area please visit the following link: At this site you will need to zoom or search for a particular property and then click "mapping" which is located in the upper right hand corner. Then navigate to "layer control" and select "100 year Floodplain" and "Floodway" and then select update map.
