  2. Oktoberwest

    September 13, 2019 - September 14, 2019 @ Steamboat Ski Resort

    Visit Steamboat Springs this fall for the 11th annual OktoberWest…BEER, BEEF and Steamboat! The weekend kicks off on Friday with a stroll to Steamboat restaurants, tasting beers at your leisure while you walk historic downtown. Saturday’s festival at the Steamboat Mountain Village includes the Beer Garden, featuring over 40 Rocky Mountain craft brewers. The infamous Beef Cook-off is where our local chefs vie for your vote of the best beef brisket in town. Enjoy live music by Waker, concert is free to attend. Purchase tickets to the weekend events in advance. For our 11th anniversary drink in style with the VIP experience, our new a commemorative ceramic stein.

  3. Run Rabbit Run Ultramarathon

    September 13, 2019 - September 14, 2019

    The Run Rabbit Run courses are very much like life, in that there are many, many little and not so little ups and downs in between the obvious highs and lows. Be prepared. The 50 mile race starts bright and early at 6 AM at the Steamboat Springs ski area (elevation, 6,900 feet) on Saturday, September 14, 2019 and proceeds up, up, up to Mount Werner (elevation, 10,568 feet) then goes up and down and up and down some more and then across the Continental Divide to Rabbit Ears Mountain (elevation, 10,500 feet) before heading back and way down to the ski area. The 100-mile course starts on Friday, September 13, 2019 (Tortoises at 8 AM, Hares at noon) and will also start at the base of the ski area and encompass Buffalo Pass (elevation, 10,300) and Emerald Mountain, with a few nice little hops through town.

  4. Farmers Market

    September 14, 2019, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Yampa Street & 7th Street

    The Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market, located on 7th and Yampa streets and the 7th street parking lot, is held on Saturdays from mid-June to Mid September. Our official hours are 9 am to 2 pm but if you are out riding your bike or getting in a quick run before the day’s events, you can usually pick up a cup of coffee, pastry or even a breakfast burrito before the crowds arrive. The Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market features fresh fruit and vegetables each week, many of our vegetable vendors are from right here in Steamboat, but a lot of folks drive in from Palisades or the front range to round out our selection. We focus on food and offer a wide variety of local and cottage industry products. You can pick up fresh bread and pies, local beef, bison, pork and lamb as well as jams, syrups and even horseradish.

  5. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue Open House

    September 14, 2019, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Mountain Fire Station

    SSFR hosts an open house for the third consecutive year at the Mountain Fire Station, 2600 Pine Grove Road, from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Similar to previous open houses, enjoy a cookout featuring free hot dogs and hamburgers; fun kids’ activities such as the fire hose spray, fire extinguisher training, car seat checks along with demonstrations and information. The majority of the department’s fire apparatus, ambulances and equipment will be on display including the newest addition in aerial suppression supremacy, Tower-61, capable of lifting firefighters 100 feet in the air. Guests can check out each vehicle as well as sign up to climb to the top of the four-section extension ladder of Ladder-62, which typically towers above the open house. Residents will be able to tour the Mountain Fire Station and experience where firefighters are based during their 24-hour shift as well as understand what goes into being a firefighter, EMT or paramedic with SSFR.
