Scott Ford - At-Large

Scott Ford is serving his second term on City Council, although in a different seat then when first elected.  In 2013, Ford ran and won the four-year District II seat and then was reelected for the two-year At-Large seat in 2017, where he currently serves the city and its residents.

During his time on council, Ford has focused on three key areas: fiscal sustainability, bringing the Combined Law Enforcement Facility to fruition and completing the Downtown Improvement Plan that takes into account both the near and long term view. He was instrumental in starting Coffee with Council and organizing a Council booth at the summer Farmers’ Market.

Numbers have been a way of life for Ford, an economist, over his career in the Yampa Valley. In the early 1990, he served as economic advisor and oversaw visitor information for the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Assoc. He shares his affinity for figures working with a small business incubator at the Colorado Mountain College, as a data analyst with Yampa Valley Data Partners and writing a column for local media outlets. Currently, he is the business manager for the Valley Voice and a partner in the Pinnacle Economic Research Group.

Outside of council, Ford is an avid fly fisherman and can be found on the Yampa River and other local tributaries.  He has worked on several projects to help share his love of the sport.  You can often find Scott walking around downtown Steamboat Springs especially with his dog, but always near the river and always open to conversation with constituents.
