Lisel Petis - District I
Lisel Petis was sworn in on Valentine’s Day 2017, filling the District I vacancy. In November 2017, she was reelected to her first full, four-year term serving the City of Steamboat Springs and its residents.
Born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Petis serves as executive director for Advocates Building Peaceful Communities. Prior to joining Advocates in April 2018, she worked for Cantafio Hammond, where she specialized in the areas of business law, contracts, construction law, employment law, real estate, and civil litigation. Prior to that, she worked as a fractional CFO and General Counsel for a local architecture and construction company and as a prosecutor with the District Attorney’s Office for several years.
Outside of council, Lisel is active in the community serving as commissioner for the Judicial Review Commission in the 14th Judicial District; owner of a consulting firm (3rive, LLC); President of the Petis Law Community Impact Foundation with her husband, Geoff; and, a volunteer for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
She has volunteered far and wide, donating her time in California, Glenwood Springs, Denver, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and most recently, throughout the Yampa Valley with Grand Futures, Young Professionals Network, Integrated Community and Craig’s Domestic Violence Task Force.
