STEAMBOAT SPRINGS TEEN COUNCIL

2013 Teen Council Logo

The Steamboat Springs Teen Council is a collaboration between the City of Steamboat Springs and Grand Futures Prevention Coalition. Both agencies work together to mentor local teens and help them grow into active, contributing members of our community.

Our VISION is a community where teens have a voice.

Our MISSION is to demonstrate that teens are valuable assets and are caring members of the community who are committed to education, health/wellness, the environment and service. As a channel and resource for all teens, we strive to open lines of communication and provide common ground for teens and adults.

VALENTINES DAY AT CASEY'S POND

Members of this year's Teen Council were looking for a way to give back to our community and came up with the idea of hand making and distributing valentines to our senior community at Casey's Pond. The valentines had sweet messages to brighten their day and were hand delivered by members of the Teen Council.

LEAD THE CHANGE COLORADO CONFERENCE

Members were excited to venture outside of Steamboat Springs to attend a full day conference in Littleton, CO. The Lead the Change Colorado Conference was organized by Rise Above, CO. The conference included a spectacular key note speaker, a spy themed round table, and a creative lesson on how to use social media. Following the conference, Teen Council members enjoyed a night of team bonding and fun activities at Boondocks in Denver.
